So what does professional level diving mean?
Professional level diving can mean a lot of things! The basic concept of professional level diving is that you have undergone training to become a leader in scuba diving. You have demonstrated your skills to be adequate and can be responsible for other divers. Professional scuba divers are meant to lead by example. And it all starts with your certification level. Professional Certification levels include: DM, AI, OWSI, MSDT, and IDC Staff.
Divemasters (DMs) learn how to lead dives, assist with classes and be the diver everyone looks up to through their training.
Open Water Scuba Instructors (OWSI) develop skills to teach scuba diving which will allow you to share your love of the aquatic world with others while doing what you enjoy – being in, around and under water. PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors and PADI Assistant Instructors are the most sought-after dive professionals around the world because they’ve completed the program that sets the standard for training dive professionals.
Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) rating sets you apart as a dive instructor who takes continuing education seriously and is committed to teaching a variety of courses. Being an MSDT signifies that you’ve got the experience and certifications to offer all the training a diver needs to become a Master Scuba Diver – the ultimate recreational diver rating.
Instructor Development Course Staff Instructor (IDC Staff) provides you with in-depth knowledge of the instructor development process and prepares you to shape the next generation of PADI Professionals.
